The faked photos in school textbooks are not there for the children, they are there for the adults. As is 99% of what constitutes School. But as a society, we’ll pretend otherwise until we are dead in our collective grave.

That is true for public education, as it is run for the benefit of the adults who run things, and these adults happen to be dumb ones with no real talents, but plenty of attachment neuroses.
