Eduwonk links to Amazon customer reviews of a new toy, Playmobil Security Check Point:
While I’m sure your child will love this do we really want to reveal our security secrets to the terrorists? I bet al-Qaeda is training the next generation with this very product. I am saddened to learn that Playmobil hates America.
Satire alert: This person is joking.

Come on Joanne. You really shouldn’t have to warm your readers that it is satire. If someone can’t figure it out then maybe they should be reading some other blog. Anyway it is always amusing to read the comments from people who don’t realize that an article is satire.
By the way, when I went onto the Amazon site and click on Playmobil Security Check Point, Amazon had their usual statement that “Customers Who Bought Items Like This Also Bought”. What was strange was that it listed a whole set of Scientology books. I wonder what the connection is.
I was wondering about the Scientogoly link too… maybe the toy looks too much like one of their secret machines or something?
(Disclaimer– most of what I know about Scientology I learned from that one funny episode of “Millenium” and some satirical Sci Fi stories written by various ex-drinking buddies of Hubbard…..
