About the sweater issue. I'm a little suspicious. Our local schools with uniforms have a sweater (navy blue) that is optional. The sweater this girl is wearing in the picture is ridiculously tight (in my opinion). Is there a sweater as part of the uniform but she doesn't like it and tried to get away with her own skin-tight one? It wasn't mentioned in the article.

Michael Sheridan was stripped of his title as class vice president, barred from attending an honors student dinner

Snort. I bet poor Michael is weepy. I mean, this is 8th grade class vice president! And an honor's dinner! (Whatever that is). How can a 13 year old boy deal with such humanity? And to think that hundreds of years ago, a 13 yo boy might be working a man's job or going to war.

When I was in 8th grade, I believe a boy could get his --- kicked for daring to run for class vice president. He probably sold the candy for self-preservation, and so now his life expectancy just rose 5 years. And he even gets a day off to celebrate! Smart lad.

I'd like to know more of the background around the case before I make a decision... Did the student have a history of misbehavior? Was the suspension the result of a more serious incident that simply started over Skittles?
I've seen usually-reasonable kids go bonkers over ridiculous little things...

Har har, Jay.
:-)

Seriously, though... this is why the government doesn't have my children for 6 hours each day.

Maybe he and Spitzer should talk. Both were stripped of their government titles for buying candy.
